MOTHER’S DAY ECARD COMPETITION!

We just had our first Mother’s Day eCard Competition on Facebook, and it was a great success!

The competition is KidsCode’s gift to all the mummies! Kids who have participated in our earlier sharing sessions need only to send us their Scratch URL to enter the competition, and the kid with the most number of likes for his/her Mother’s Day eCard will win a Starbucks e-gift card as a token of our appreciation!

Happiest congratulations to our winner – Yuhan!

To the rest of the participants, thank you for your participation! We really LOVE all the eCard designs because the kids made each eCard with love for their beloved mummies!

MOTHER’S DAY ECARD MAKING USING SCRATCH 3.0 SHARING SESSION!

It’s a wrap! Our first ever online Mother’s Day eCard Making using Scratch 3.0 sharing session was astounding success!

In our sharing session, not only did the kids learned to design a simple card and do simple coding, they also learned about copyright and the fair use of online images. Learning about intellectual property is important, as media content are more getting more accessible and used without giving the necessary credits to the creators.

Our poll results have shown that 92% of the kids had enjoyed our session, and 75% of them want more of such sharing sessions! It is a strong testament that we have made learning about coding fun and enjoyable for the kids!

We are also pleased to share that out of the 35 kids that joined us for the sessions, a few of them are from overseas e.g. Australia, Canada, etc. In this era of online learning, technology has blurred the geographical boundaries between the teacher and learners. With technology enabling learning to transcend borders, learners are now able to learn literally, wherever they are, whenever they want.

Here’s a fun fact! We are the first to launch an online sharing session about coding for kids!
